In the Philippines, Jose Mari Chan Christmas memes started making the rounds on September 1st. Like clockwork. If you’re not familiar with the guy, he’s a businessman and musician. His most famous song, “Christmas in Our Hearts”, a duet with daughter Liza Chan, has become so pervasive over the years that it has inspired all kinds of memes as a reminder that Christmas is just around the corner.
And that brings me to the subject of this newsletter. I have a surprise for you. Just in time for Christmas. In addition to receiving regular newsletters, you may also be a part of Umami Days Community where we can chat about cooking, swap recipes, learn from each other and just hang out. I used to do that on my Facebook page, but Facebook won’t show my posts to my 46,000 followers anymore unless I “boost” every post with paid advertising. And I am not going to do that. So, goodbye Facebook.
About Umami Days Community. This project has been on hold for months. The launch was delayed because we moved to a new house in June and getting organized had been awful. I was supposed to do a welcome video to launch the community but with the non-stop rain, the gray skies has made that difficult. The rains have not abated, I have not done a welcome video, and I finally decided why wait for sunny skies? I launched the community minus the welcome video.
This newsletter powered by Jetpack will be retired. If you wish to continue receiving Umami Days newsletter and join the community, here is the link to sign up. I hope you do sign up because the community will be an interactive experience. We get to communicate and share ideas. Hope to see you there.
